Since I am a bit comfortable playing sicilian lines - I think a continuation of d5 is in order... to bring me out of my comfort area. With mastering an art: 'Do the most what you least want to.' An example would be how I hate endgame study and so am weak in the endgame... therefore I should study endgames because I don't want to. - Scandinavian is what I don't want to do... as well as caro-kann, but I think I will choose this one, also: it is less common than caro-kann *the forth most common reply to e4. I think scandinavian is like the 5th or 6th. |

Writing the moves down is fine, just so long as a 'board view' is only accomplished with skill of visualization mentally.
I always have trouble in scandinavian, and especially with this continuation I am now going to play - which is 2... Nf6.
I am doing this because I want to enhance my skills in a line I have trouble with - and I think trying to work out all of the details through visualizing it will be a big help. It isn't easy visualizing everything though - still trying to get good at it |
